For great food and service and Location Location Location - you will find all this and more at Meat District Co. There is so much to choose from that you will be spoiled for choice. But when you do decide, sit back, enjoy and watch the world go by - by the waterside. It’s such an idyllic place to chill and of course eat and drink very well.

To start with on our recent visit we both had yummy cocktails. Sir had Havaiana - which brough the tropics to Sydney with a great mix of Malibu, Midori, banana liqueur, pineapple juice and coconut cream. It really was a Caribbean party in a drink.

Mlady had Cucumber mule - Traditional Mule with Smirnoff Vodka, lime juice, ginger beer and cucumber slices. Served tall over ice. Was a good way to have a drink and get your greens!

Our first starter was Crispy Onion Rings. Oh my Goodness - these were HUGE! These really were quite impressive to look at. They had a lovely outside crispness and the onions were so soft. We both thoroughly enjoyed these and dipping them in the tasty aioli - lovely!

Sir is quite partial to marrow so looking at the menu we just had to try the Roasted Bone Marrow with garlic, parsley, mustard seeds and chilli served with olive bread. It’s texture was soft and silky with wonderful subtle flavours. Scooping this delicacy onto the olive bread was a lovely taste sensation.

Mlady thought she would be a bit adventurous. She loves her beef burgers but decided on the Australian Crocodile burger. The crocodile was chargrilled with sliced zucchini, lettuce and beetroot relish and it was served in a beetroot bun. The bun, with it’s beetroot colouring, was lovely and soft and it held everything so well together. Mlady loves beetroot so this burger ticked that box too. To describe its texture - you would have to say it falls in between chicken and fish. This crocodile burger was a winner. Everything on it complemented so well. She said she would definitely order this again! It also had a serving of tasty crisp chips and we all know that chips go well with a burger!

No surprises Sir loves his meat so he eyed off the very hearty Ribs and Sirloin combo. The menu described this as ‘Our sirloin fillet AND a 1/2 rack of pork ribs. The sauce Sir chose was creamy garlic. It is advisable to wear the bib and it was good that Sir did - as he was wearing a white shirt! The sirloin was perfectly cooked as ordered - medium rare. The ribs were extremely tender and had a great basting sauce. This also came with a serving of tasty crisp chips. This was an impressive dish and the serving was huge! Sir thoroughly enjoyed himself - devouring every last bit of this very tasty feast.

We managed to fit in dessert - just. Mlady does like having a bit of an after dinner liqueur, so she thought of combining this with her other love - ice-cream - and chose the Frangelico liqueur Affogato. It was such a lovely way to complement an incredibly tasty meal.

Sir at times can’t get past pastries, so he was delighted when he saw Millefogile on the menu. This is crispy layers of puff pastry filled with patisserie cream, surrounded by crushed sponge and chantilly cream, dusted with icing sugar. It had lovely flaky pastry and was such a good dessert for the pastry lover!

Meat District Co is sits in an idylic place gazing out over Darling Harbour. The food is great - big servings of very tasty food. The service is just as good too.
