PIZZA:DELI | WATERLOO, SYDNEY

For truly amazingly fresh tasty pizzas and pastas you must go to Pizza:Deli! This outstanding restaurant is in the Green Square district. The venue is airy and light and they do dine in, take-away and home delivery. Their quality ingredients are a stand out and so fresh. Everything here is made in-house too!

Not only do they have the classics, they serve really incredible combinations of pizzas and pastas for example beef cheek pizza, roast lamb pizza and Moroccan lamb pizza.

We started with a very tasty antipasto plate. This was so fresh and vibrant. Loved the soft Buffalo mozzarella.  Having a mouthful of the cured meats, mozzarella, semi-dried tomato with the marinated artichokes and some olives – lovely!

The Caesar salad we tried was the “traditional” (no anchovies or chicken). This too was beautifully crisp and so fresh and the croutons were a good decent size. The home-made Caesar dressing topped it off nicely.

For pasta we had the Arrabiata. WOW this really was so good! The fresh linguini was so soft and the flavour was delicious. It also had a good kick with the chilli. Fresh basil tasted and went so well with this yummy pasta.  This really was one of the best pasta’s ever - and yet so simple. Pasta is generally a “heavy” type of food but this was not. The softness of the linguini made it “light”. Loved this!

Our pizzas were – The hot sopressa salami. What a good “bite” this had! It really lived up to its name. It was not at all too hot where you could not eat it – it was “just right”. Thoroughly enjoyed this.

The Prosciutto was one of Sir’s favourites as it had truffle oil on it and he loves this. There was plenty of San Daniele Prosciutto and teamed with rocket and all the other goodies – equals a winning combination.

Both loving seafood we just had to try the Szechuan chilli prawn. OMG! The taste sensation was absolutely divine. You could taste so many wonderful flavours and there were some parts that tasted as if caramelised – oh la la. The lime flavour complemented perfectly.

Even the bases of all the pizzas were soft with that great authentic flavour. Not crumbly. The bases held the pizza’s together perfectly.

Loving all things chocolate (especially Mlady) we were so full but managed to fit in the Nutella Calzone. How good was this! Appetisingly presented and the aroma was oh so good. It was served warm with the Nutella deliciously slowly oozing as you bit into it. The top covered in yummy Nutella – divine as you sink your teeth in – with sliced strawberries for sweetness and a sprinkling of icing sugar – De-Lish-Ous!

We were so full after this feast that we kindly asked if we could take our “left overs” with us.
A monumental first!

The food at Pasta:Deli is really Delicious with a capital ‘D’. The meals are fresh, vibrant and the servings are generous. To coin a popular phrase – “Do yourself a favour”!
