Rashays is a family restaurant with a diverse menu which caters for everyone and you will most certainly come out feeling wonderfully full. They don't sell alcohol at Punchbowl but there are plenty of drinks to choose from that will go well with your meal.

Rashays at Punchbowl have introduced an inspiring initiative for which they must be admired. The venue has introduced Auslan (the language of the hearing impaired community in Australia) for their staff with several lessons being held each week. Staff have thrown themselves into this initiative. too. They have also introduced a special time on Wednesday evenings for families who have a member with autism. These are both wonderful initiatives. Well done team, you should all be very proud of this!

For drinks Mlady had a lemon lime and bitters and Sir had a diet coke. We ordered regular sizes and these turned out to be very generous sized glasses. The menu really has so much to choose from and the pictures make it hard to decide as it all looks good. For our first entrée we decided on the fried prawns with tartare sauce. These had light crumbs over oh so perfectly cooked juicy prawns. Dipping them in the plentiful tartare - lovely - and we fought over the fifth prawn!

Our other starter was Bruschetta. This was topped with semi-dried tomato, Spanish onions, basil and  balsamic glaze all on toasted sourdough. The aroma was divine and there was so much topping. This vibrant entrée had such fresh flavours. We thoroughly enjoyed this.

As a main Mlady chose the Salmon - Salmon fillet with fresh herb chimichurri and hollandaise sauce. Thank you to the franchisee Bashar for taking the time to ask how Mlady wanted her salmon to be cooked, this was very much appreciated as it's often only done with steaks. The salmon was cooked perfectly too with a light crisped top revealing tender meat underneath and the mash was also so yummy - light and fluffy. Combining the salmon, mash and hollandaise on your fork - such a great taste combination. Mlady is such a huge fan of salmon and mash and she absolutely loved this dish. The vibrant side of lightly crisp veggies was a lovely tasting accompaniment.

Sir chose as a main - schnitzel pasta - on the menu as - Our Rashays creamy mushroom fettuccine with parmesan cheese and a hand-crumbed chicken schnitzel. This was a very generous serving which looked so impressive - in fact it was massive. This dish could have fed two people. The pasta had their signature creamy sauce which is very popular there with a lot of dishes. The schnitzel was beautifully crisp and golden with the chicken tasty and moist. Sir certainly enjoyed his main, but even he struggled to finish it, which says something!

We were able to fit in dessert - just - or at least try to. It was hard to choose as all the desserts looked so good but Mlady decided on the (no surprises) Brownie with Nutella - chocolate brownie with Nutella, salted nut crumble & vanilla ice cream. How good was this! Seriously - the Nutella went so well with this incredibly delicious brownie and it was not at all too much or sickly sweet. The vanilla ice-cream went so well too with this mouthwatering dessert. Mlady was in heaven and she greedily ate it all!

Sir chose the cutely presented Sticky Cookie - oven baked marshmallow cookie dough with warm chocolate sauce and vanilla ice-cream. It was a rich gooey sweet dessert and everything that a true sweet tooth would crave. He loved it.

The food at Rashays is substantial and fresh with great tastes and combo's. Presentation is appetisingly appealing as the dishes are served on bold black plates which certainly shows off the vibrancy of each dish.

Sir and Mlady dined as guests of Rashays at Punchbowl. Big thank you to Bashar. Thank you also to Virginia the manager there who chatted with us and looked after us on the night. Thanks also to Asmita for looking after us. Special thanks to Lisa from Hollinshead Comms for arranging this visit.
