Rozelle, Sydney
This is the taste of Italy in Rozelle. There is great food and great drinks including the divinely refreshing Aperol spritz, and great service too. There is a lovely room at the back but in the front there’s a party zone as well as an ornately tiled wood-fire pizza oven that has a Wow factor that holds court near the entry.
We were fortunate to attend the Second Birthday of ReccoLab. And what a wonderful birthday it was! The birthday function was held on the other side to the main restaurant area. As we entered we were greeted by the drinks waiter who asked us what we would like. In keeping with the theme we both decided to have an Aperol Spritz. This is such a great tasting vibrant drink which certainly was very popular on the day with everyone.
Mlady had a few - as did Sir. Sir did have a few more drinks but this time he indulged in some Negroni’s. The Negroni is a nice rich colour which the Campari provides.
Seriously - such amazing tasting food. There were various focaccias, olives (yummy spicy ones as well), various delicious meats, gorgeous sliders, various skewers that had tomatoes, bocconcini and black olives.
One of the most amazing of all was - Focaccia Col Formaggio! This was DIVINE!. Such incredible flavours. The Focaccia was so soft. Even though you could taste all of the flavours, nothing overpowered and this focaccia was so light and elegant. A truly wonderful taste sensation!
ReccoLab has a great “buzz”. It has an industrial feel - where the birthday was held and you walk down a little corridor past the kitchen to the restaurant. Both areas were busy when we were there.
Sir and Mlady dined as guests of ReccoLab. Special Thank you to Antonio - owner and visionary for taking time out from his busy evening to chat with us. Special thanks also to Rachel, Jenny and Jade from The Society Group for this tasty invitation.
