This brand new eatery in the Castle Towers shopping mall is certainly starting with a bang! Opened only the day before our visit, it was full to the brim with diners and the kitchen was pumping out the dishes. It seems there has been a need for a place which offers a healthier style of food - and tasty food at that.
It’s in a sectioned-off space in the middle of the mall which looks fresh and bright. The menu offers a tempting choice of all-day breakfast/brunch dishes as well as burger varieties and super salads. We watched the plates go past and saw just how amazing and generous they all looked. The air-roasted coffee was a must, but there was a great selection of teas and healthy juices and smoothies on offer too. The coffee was as good as promised, which is so important in a café.
Dame M can’t go past an Eggs Benny, with an option of bacon (or smoked salmon.) This was served on sourdough with smashed avo and potato and carrot rosti. The creamy hollandaise sauce was dolloped over the top and a fresh salad was on the side. It was really delicious and hearty and a much healthier version of the old favourite.
The spinach spaghettini with prawns and garlic oil was super tasty and beautifully seasoned by the olive crumbs tossed through it. There were plenty of big juicy prawns and cherry tomatoes too – certainly another dish to recommend. A squeeze of lemon over the top was the perfect finishing touch to this impressive dish.
We saw some awesome burgers arriving at nearby tables, and the salads looked droolworthy! They can be ordered to share, or you can select an added protein option to make a hearty meal of it. Next time!
The dessert and cake counter looked so tempting it was hard to believe these goodies are actually vegan! The menu is also full of items which are gluten free, paleo, vegan and organic. There is obviously a lot of care put into the selection of ingredients here and we loved the way they added nutritional value while producing very tasty and visually appealing dishes.
