The Tiny Giant
110 Audley St
Petersham, Sydney
Petersham isn't somewhere the Viscount and Viscountess visit often, but was worth the trip for our visit to the Tiny Giant. Located on the quaint Audley Street in Petersham, this cafe was bustling and busy the whole time we were there. With fresh, welcoming decor and friendly staff, we were excited for what was ahead.
We started with our standard mocha and long black while we perused the menu. It featured some of the traditional breakfast options like Eggs Benedict, avocado toast and baked eggs, but also some more adventurous options, which of course we decided to try.
The Viscount had the Pea Smash Parmesan, and added a truffle egg, on suggestion of our waitress. The dish looked very impressive and the Viscount couldn't wait to get stuck into it. The peas were fresh and sweet and went really well with the creamy burrata and basil pesto garnish. The saltiness of the prosciutto and parmesan, and the truffle egg complimented this dish just perfectly.
The Viscountess opted for the Famous Brioche Toast from the ‘Something Sweet’ menu, with a side of prosciutto. It was stunning when it hit the table, decorated beautifully with edible flowers and Persian pashmak. The brioche toast was soft and the mascarpone was creamy and absolutely delicious. Combined with the fresh fruit and salted caramel, this dish had been carefully put together and was an absolute treat.
The added prosciutto provided a nice contrast of salty flavours and helped to break through the sweet flavours of the dish. This was a delicious and indulgent start to the day. We will definitely be back for this dish again.
The Tiny Giant also offer a fantastic range of baked goods including some delicious-looking cronuts. We were too full to try them, but they looked delicious and will leave room next time.
A big thank you to the team at The Tiny Giant for hosting us. Special thanks to Claire and April from CPM Online Marketing for arranging this visit.
