11 Inch Pizza

With so many great places lurking down laneways in Melbourne it's hard to go wrong. Well 11 inch pizza is one of these treasures. It's a cute place - and yes by cute we mean small but nice. They do a good trade of take away but also churn out plenty of eat-in food too.
When in Rome..... Well we were in a place called 11 inch Pizza so pizza it was. We decided to share two and started with an Alle pizza. We were attracted to it straight away as it had anchovies on it. But it was more than that. It was a tasty base topped with sauce, mozzarella, fior di latte, Sicilian anchovies, capers, black olives and oregano. What a tasty combination of salty bitey flavours.
Our second choice was a tasty prawn pizza called Gambero. It had a base topped with sauce, mozzarella, garlic marinated tiger prawns, chilli flakes and fior do latte. Now we love seafood on pizza and this tasty treat certainly hit the spot.
While we were already pretty full and not inclined to have dessert we couldn't resist the Nutella calzone. Called Calzone Dolce, it was a pastry envelope filled with warm flowing Nutella, rich ricotta and the slightly more tart taste of berries. It was a winning combination that we devoured, even though it was quite big.
There are plenty of different options available here. It's a hard choice as they all sound so good and look just as tasty as they go past! It's licenced too which is great.
11 Inch Pizza has great food hidden down a laneway. Venture down there though because it's worth it. The hardest thing will be what to choose. The food arrives freshly made but quickly and is very tasty. We left very satisfied.
