Issus
8-10 Centre Place
Melbourne
If you've ever seen DiagonAlley in the Harry Potter films then Centre Place is as close to it as possible. Its busy, bustling, crowded and alive. Its also lined with an amazing variety of eateries with options for any taste and palate. Issus has a uni student feel to it - quirky charm. We were there for brunch - and its all day breakfast
menu is perfect for that!
Meal one was their Omelette. This comes in the pan it was cooked in - on a breadboard with some rocket and a piece of sourdough lightly drizzled with olive oil. The omlette is packed with goodies - including spinach, mushroom, whole cherry tomatoes and feta. At $13.90 its good value as you certainly get a full meal!
Also on the menu are eggs as you like them"" and they come, well, as you like them. This time they were ordered scrambled and the y come on two pieces of sourdough with a sprig of greenery as a garnish. At$7.90 its decent value compared to other nearby places.
Issus also squeezes their own fresh juice combo's too. There are some nice mixtures - we chose the Mint (which has apple, orange and mint) and the Sunrise (which has apple, orange, cranberry). Juices are $6.50 each but they're fresh and good.
Issus is a nice place to go for a brunch with good food and interesting surrounds. The service was friendly and efficient. Well worth a visit.
