Surry Hills, Sydney
On a quick visit to Surry Hills to call in on some friends for lunch we found them at Franco Franco. This was a pleasant surprise as we hadn't yet tried their food.
They hadn't booked but the restaurant was very accommodating and looked after the group well.
This is a fairly large place with an extended outside seating area along the street front.
We were there on a pleasant sunny day for lunch and it was certainly very nice sitting back, eating good food and watching the world go by.
As expected it was made from
fior di latte, pomodoro and basil. It's an old favourite and tasted great.
We then had a con patate pizza made from fior di latte, thin potato, red onion and slices of Italian sausage.
Again, as expected, there was a bit more tang and bite in this one which was lovely.

Next was a tasty capricciosa pizza with pomodoro, fior di latte, ham, mushroom, black olives and artichoke. We then moved on to a diavola made from fior di latte, pomodoro and hot salami. This was my favourite.
Franco Franco has southern Italian Neapolitan style pizzas with the softer bases. There are plenty of topping combinations and they look after you well here. We'll hopefully get back another time to try some more of their menu.
