Dera-Uma is fast food with a difference. Firstly, it's Japanese fast food - so it's not your usual quick meal. Secondly, its also washoku - which means it's also the real deal in Japanese food with authentic chefs preparing their food in authentic ways. Sounds quite authentic doesn't it! We started with a few drinks and the Cajyutta was a real winner - freshly squeezed ruby red grapefruit served in its own rind. Wow - good look and good taste too. The apple tea was another great drink too!
The salmon was cooked beautifully and there was so much of it too.
It arrived in a box resting on top of coleslaw, pickled radish and sesame seeds all on a bed of freshly cooked rice. Lovely.
Anything that involves the words crispy pork grabs our attention straight away.
The Tomago Toji Bowl had toji pork katsu (crumbed and deep fried pork) served with onion, pickled ginger and shallots with two or three eggs in there and all on rice. It's a big feed and packed with great flavours.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Japanese "fast food". The dishes were tasty and substantial and the prices were great too with almost everything under $15 and many under $10. This sister venue to it's next door neighbour - Mappen - and to Oiden - deserves the popularity it gets itself for its food.
Sir and Countess D dined as guests of Dera Uma. Special thanks to Yuri from Washoku Lovers and SD Marketing Global for inviting us.
