Farina Pizzeria
Shop 3/1 Normurra Ave
North Turramurra, Sydney
We thought we would go Italian, which isn’t unusual for us really, so we headed to Farina Pizzeria in North Turramurra for some pasta and perhaps a glass of wine or two. As it turned out, we had a few more things there too.
While we often head towards the polpette or arancini for starters, this time we decided on the zucchini flowers. It turned out to be a good choice too with four massive flowers stuffed with ricotta and mascarpone, pine nuts, lemon zest and Parmesan cheese. They were nicely coated with crispy batter and had a nice tasty soft centre.
We only occasionally have garlic bread and this cold evening was one of those times. We almost craved it. This serving of three was soft fluffy bread with plenty of garlic! We really enjoyed this. We had also grabbed a few glasses of wine. They have quite a few available by the glass. Sir had a Chianti and Mlady had a Merlot.
Sir loves garlic, pasta, chilli and seafood so the Spaghetti Granchio ticked all the boxes! There was a lot going on with this lovely meal. It had blue swimmer crab, chilli, garlic, baby zucchini, cherry tomatoes with white wine and extra virgin olive oil. Not only did Sir get a lot of his faves in his meal, he even had some veggies too - bonus!
As a main Mlady had one of her “go to’s” - Lasagna. This absolutely delicious meal was home made with beef, bechamel and sugo di pomodoro. It was a massive serving - one of the biggest - and cooked beautifully. Mlady thoroughly enjoyed it!
This place does a roaring trade in pizza. While we didn’t head to that part of the menu this time they looked good coming out to the table. A lot were going out the door too as they keep very busy with take away and home delivery orders.
We thoroughly enjoyed the food at Farina Pizzeria. There’s lots to choose from and the food is fresh, tasty and substantial.
