Lindt Cafe
53 Martin Place,
Sydney CBD
This particular Lindt Cafe has a place in history that no-one in Australia will ever forget. It is also an iconic venue for chocolates, coffee, sweet treats and other goodies as well. While we'd both been here a while back, this was our first visit since in recent years.
How can you not get a hot chocolate here! We grabbed one each - and you can choose what type of chocolate you want from milk or dark. We had one of each. The ceremony of pouring molten hot chocolate into your cup then adding frothy hot milk from the separate jug is wonderful. It's a big serving too giving you several cups of hot choccy. So good.
We had a tasting plate that had a great selection of goodies on it to share. At one end was a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of a layer of shattered honeycomb and chocolate. The signature Lindt chocolate sign was protruding proudly on top. Two macarons were next to this. The middle of the plate was dominated by two slices of cake. One was a light fluffy mousse-like creation while the other was thicker and richer. At the other end were two Lindt balls. This was certainly substantial and it all tasted great. We did manage to finish it all too - just!
Of course if you're at Lindt Cafe you may as well stock up on some of their chocolates for the walk back or for later on. We did!
This iconic Lindt Cafe is somewhere that should be on everyone's list to visit at some stage. It's a big place with plenty ofchoices available and the ideal place for anyone with a sweet tooth or two.
