Out Of Italy
51 Bayswater Rd
Rushcutters Bay, Sydney
Out of Italy is a cosy, casual pizza bar but they also serve a few pasta dishes too - if you're after something other than pizza or want a pasta starter. When we arrived it was packed but we were fortunate to find a table. It's a small place so it does fill quickly. The décor is exposed brick giving it an interesting old world ambience and the tables are wooden benches. They cater for take-away too, in fact mostly we think, which is great for the locals.
Mlady decided to have a glass of Sangiovese which goes so well with Italian food. For a change Sir had a coke zero - such a calorie conscious guy at a pizza bar!
We ordered two medium sized pizzas and as we really love prosciutto and are huge fans of the Margherita, we chose these. The prosciutto was made up of a tomato base, bocconcini cheese, fresh rocket, prosciutto and olive oil. Rocket is quite bitter but combined with the lovely tomato base, the oh so yummy prosciutto and not forgetting the all-important bocconcini –made for a really delicious pizza. We both thoroughly enjoyed this.
The Margherita – tomato base, cheese and basil. This pizza is simple yet so effective. Great colours with really tasty flavours – one of Mlady’s favourites.
Out of Italy is a cosy place that does serve a great pizza. The locals always seem to keep them busy which is a good sign. We really enjoyed what we had.
