This place is a gem. It has it all from savoury delights through to sweet sensations. We enjotyed a tasty and varied selection of manoushe which is like a Lebanese version of pizza. Not only did we enjoy the food, their barista Christian makes really good coffee which Sir can attest to. Christian made Sir his usual skim flat white which was a very tasty drop. There’s also a varied sweet selection of lovely baklava and nougat. There’s lots to choose from the menu, with explanations of what actually makes each manoushe.
From the original manoushe menu we had Kafta (tomato, pickles, mayo) and this was made in the cheese kaake texture. This was an absolute winner for Mlady as she loves pickles. You eat this whilst it’s hot and you get to savour such amazing flavours. This ticked all the boxes. It looked good and tasted great.
Next was the Shanklish (dried spicy cheese) pie. This was also delicious. It was so soft in texture inside its golden pastry envelope and we both enjoyed the dried spicy cheese centre. It was a lovely taste sensation.
We tried the Lebanese Omelette (Eijeh) next. This had cheese, onion, spring onion, parsley, dry mint and mayo. Sir loves his eggs, and this had a nice and light consistency with lovely flavours. The dry mint and mayo complemented it perfectly.
For dessert we had the Go Nuts. This very pretty sweet pizza was topped with peanut butter, honey, strawberry and banana topped with crushed peanuts. How good was this! The aroma was so good and it tasted great and Sir had his fruit for the day! Nothing was overwhelming, everything went so well together.
Not only do you experience amazing manoushe’s but you can also try their oh so good huge selection of baklava’s - which we did and absolutely loved. There’s also a very tasty and colourful selection of nougat.
Manoushe by Alba’s has only been open for two months or so and we could see that they are gaining a legion of fans. Their food is varied, fresh with mouthwatering flavours and great textures. Their sweet selection is incredible. We got to chat with owners Georgina and Roy and we want to say a big thank to them for sharing their vision with us and taking time from their busy schedules to chat. Thank you also to Barista Christian for also chatting with us in between being busy making lovely coffee.
