Volcano’s Steakhouse
311-313 Church St
Parramatta, Sydney
Volcanoes Steakhouse is not just a steakhouse that specialises in amazing dry aged steaks and ribs. Their extensive menu includes seafood, woodfire pizzas, pastas, burgers, seafood and salads just to name a few. They are not licensed but they have certainly upped the ante with colourful mocktails and other beverages. The soft drink tower is a real crowd pleaser. It’s a place that caters to all tastes and does it all so well.
We attended a brilliant function arranged by Jason King aka Spooning Australia. As the saying goes - great company, great food, great venue, great night!
As the mocktails looked so vibrant, we just had to try some. If you have a sweet tooth you will definitely enjoy them. What’s good about the mocktails is that you know just how sweet or tangy they are per the menu. The Dark Knight a lovely dark mocktail of pomegranate, blue curaçao and mixed berries - shaken - had a delicious sweet flavour. Next was the strawberry Mojito - the combination of strawberries, fragrant mint, lemon and tangy lime - shaken - created a tangy sweet flavour. Then the Watermelon Mojito - the combination of watermelon, fragrant mint, tangy lime - shaken - created another tangy sweet flavour. All these were delicious with the Watermelon Mojito being a fave of Mlady’s. The addition of dried ice created a smoky steaming sensation that added a real wow factor to each of these drinks.
Onto the food and the first thing to arrive were some lovely pizzas. They were very tasty with plenty of toppings and the crust had a nice soft crunch. There’s quite a variety on offer too ranging from chicken and meat through to seafood and vegetarian.
The chilli prawns hot pot had succulent garlic prawns, olives, tossed in a creamy pink sauce with a touch of chilli and two slices of toasted garlic bread. This was an amazing dish that had so much flavour. The black olives were a really nice touch too. There was a good spice level to it all as well. It was great to soak up that oh so good sauce with the beautifully soft garlic bread.
Nachos Fantasia was next. This was a pile of corn chips topped with a Mexican beef mix with their special four cheese sauce, together with sour cream, guacamole, tomato and corn salsa. Mlady loves nachos and this ticked all the boxes. There was so much flavour, great textures creating a good all-rounder appetiser which she thoroughly enjoyed.
How cute and yummy were the Mozzarella sticks. They were crumbed and fried Mozzarella fingers served with a smoky BBQ sauce. Oh, these were so good. They were beautifully crisped with the centre filled with that lovely stretchy Mozzarella cheese. The BBQ sauce complemented them so well too.
Out came the mains next and the Volcano’s Meat Platter is Absolutely Impressive with a capital ‘I’ or a capital AI really! Seriously it looked amazing, the aroma was amazing and tasty - oh my goodness - so so good.
This incredible platter had OP Rib (500G), T-Bone (450G), lamb ribs, lamb cutlets (which were actually lamb tomahawk cutlets) a lamb skewer, a chicken skewer all on a bed of chips and served with chermoula and lava sauce.
Where do you start? This was an absolute feast. The meat was perfectly cooked. Everything about this was “Amazing”. The Volacano’s Meat Platter is a showstopper. This has to be one of the best meat platters we have ever seen and eaten.
The Beef Short Ribs were MBS 3-4 grass fed slow cooked for 12 hours, basted with their special rib sauce. This was unbelievably tender. When you lifted up the ribs, the meat was just falling off the bone. Their special sauce just added so much extra flavour to this scrumptious dish. Seriously, Sir and Mlady thought this again was one of the best beef ribs they have ever had.
A nice fresh garden salad was a crisp tasty side to have with all wonderful dishes. Meat and salad go so well together, don’t they!
We both love pasta and next we had their Truffle Pasta. This was chicken tossed through their special creamy truffle sauce, shiitake mushrooms, basil and crispy Parmesan. The pasta was Al Dente and the chicken had a lovely flavour that combined so well with all the other ingredients. The whole dish looked and tasted great and the crispy mozzarella wafer at the side was also a winner. This was a really nice and tasty pasta.
We managed to fit in dessert - but only just.
The Chocolate Fondant, like all of our other dishes, had a wow factor. Chocoholics will love this - Mlady certainly did. It was lava chocolate cake with a molten chocolate centre, drizzled with warm Belgian chocolate, served with strawberries and creamy vanilla bean ice cream. It was also a very pretty dessert - such shame to eat it - but we did.!
Volcanoes Steakhouse has an incredible menu. Their food is fresh and so tasty. There are also so many wow factors, from the food, to the mocktails to the soft drink towers and the venue itself. You will certainly not walk out feeling hungry!
Sir and Mlady dined as guests at Volcano’s Steakhouse Parramatta. Big thank you to Jason from Spooning Australia for arranging this amazing function. Thank you also to Eddie - manager who took such good care of everyone.
