Eastwood Seafood Restaurant
167 Rowe St
Eastwood, Sydney
When you go to Eastwood in Sydney’s Northern Suburbs for some Asian food the biggest challenge is which place to choose! There are well over a hundred places and possibly closer to two hundred. Decisions, decisions, decisions. We were after a more traditional Chinese feed and the menu at Eastwood Seafood Restaurant ticked the boxes.
Golden, flaky, crisp pastry with spring onions inside - yes please! This really was a great starter that looked as good as it tasted. We also started with a pot of Chinese tea too.
We really love a good shredded beef dish and this certainly was a tasty one. The Shredded Beef Peking Style was a giant mound of deep fried crunchy julienne strips of beef and carrots. It had a light crunch and it was so hard to stop eating it! A serving of boiled rice went well too.
We moved on from the tea to beer and wine. Mlady fancied a red and the “glass” of cabernet merlot came in a small bottle - like the ones you see on planes. Sir was desperate for a beer and grabbed a Crownie.
We weakened with our next order and grabbed the honey king prawns. They were big pieces too with a lovely golden batter around large juicy prawns all with plenty of sweet honey coating. These were great.
The restaurant itself is a long thin room that stretches back quite a way from the street. It’s a bustling place too with plenty going on and a real buzz.
Eastwood Seafood Restaurant satisfied our cravings for a typical Chinese feed. The menu is extensive, the food arrives quickly and it tastes good.
