I Love Pho
47 Willoughby Rd
Crows Nest, Sydney
If you haven’t tried Vietnamese food, or if you’re already a fan, get yourself a table at this warm and friendly spot in the centre of Crows Nest. It’s very popular with the lunchtime office locals but there are plenty of tables inside or you can eat outside in the shaded dining area. The décor is suitably Vietnamese in style, with a cosy, relaxed atmosphere.
The menu is extensive and features enticing pictures of many of the dishes. They all looked so good it was quite hard to choose so we decided to seek recommendations from the super friendly staff. We started with the Crispy Spring Rolls – these were crispy indeed! Filled with a mixture of minced pork and vegetables, they were accompanied by a light savoury dipping sauce. Yum!
The Vietnamese Crispy Pancake was served next. It was stuffed with sliced duck and bean sprouts and had a lovely fresh and healthy taste. The soft filling was a nice contrast with the crunchy pancake.
We were keen to try a Vietnamese Style Curry so we decided on chicken as the protein. It was a very generous serve of chicken with thin vermicelli, coconut milk, vegetables and crushed peanuts. This was really a delicious dish which we both loved. It wasn’t a spicy curry, but certainly a good one.
Last on our list was I Love Pho’s Shaking Beef. This was eye fillet of beef stir-fried with onion, garlic and sesame oil. What a treat - super tender and juicy cubes of beef with an outstanding flavour. Definitely a “must have” dish. Divine!
Apart from serving tasty and healthy food, each meal purchased here generates a donation to build schools for Vietnam’s children in regional areas. Nice to know! I Love Pho is open 7 days from 11am until 10pm. There is council parking close by and a bottle shop just a few doors away.
Those Dames dined as guests of I Love Pho. Thanks to Tan, our friendly host, who looked after us so well on the day. Special thanks to the crew at the great deal site Ompty.com for arranging this visit.
