Well you are going to be pleasantly surprised here! The dishes at Platia are really very good and are of restaurant quality! So take the time to sit and enjoy this wonderful cuisine.
We tried a mixture of dishes that were all very tasty and unique.
Starter time and the Spinach and Feta Paratha was divine. The Paratha is like a Gozleme. This had lovely fresh flavours with a very yummy soft and lightly crisp Paratha. We both loved this fusion dish. The Tiropita (traditional cheese pie) was nice and light with the cheese being just right, not too strong in taste. The ever popular Spanakopita was next. It had a lovely flaky crisp outside with a yummy spinach and feta inside. Nice! Finally we also had the Greek chicken Keftedes which is basically a version of chicken patties. These were juicy and tasty with the meat cooked just right.
A serving of chips accompanied another popular Greek cuisine – The chicken Souvlaki Gyros. Oh my goodness- how good is this! YUMMO! So much deliciousness wrapped up in pita bread. It had wonderful flavours and textures. You can see why this is such a popular “wrap”. We thoroughly enjoyed this. It reminded us of eating them on Santorini - ah the memories.
The Beef Stifado was next up as we filled up too! This was slow cooked beef in red sauce. The beef was amazing. It just melted in your mouth and the sauce was rich, tasty and so good. This dish ticked all the boxes. We both enjoyed these. We also had a serving of cheese coated cauliflower which we have to say was absolutely incredible! Veggies shouldn’t taste this good!
To complete our very tasty meal we indulged in a few “sweets”. This included Baklava. Sir especially liked this with their sweet syrupy coating. The almond crescents were really good too and a fave of Mlady’s. The Walnut cake (Karydopita) was tasty and moist and big on flavour as well. The other sweets that we tried were equally flavoursome. There are so many good choices here.
The food at Platia Greek Street Food is good – really good. It is obvious that a lot of passion has gone into making these dishes authentic. The quality and quantity of the food is substantial and delish. So sit, relax and enjoy this appetising cuisine as you watch the many shoppers go by.
