Who doesn't like - or love in fact - great gelato? RivaReno is just that - great gelato - and it's expanding across Sydney, as people discover just how good this stuff is. It's actually very well known in Europe and especially in Italy. We'd grabbed a bite nearby and found RivaReno as we were wandering around Barangaroo. A good find it was too! We both decided to go for two flavours and in cones.
Sir, being a bit of a chocoholic, selected the Cioccolato (creamy chocolate from Piedmont) as well as Nocciola Piemonte (pure hazelnut from Piedmonte "Tonda Gentile Trilobata"). It was, as always, a big serving and the flavours were intense and so pure. The quality ingredients in this gelato shone through. Both flavours were delicious.
Mlady love a good vanilla ice cream - or gelato - and chose Alice (mascarpone, premium marsala "Vergine Soleras", lashings of gianduia) as one of her two options. As she also loves almond flavour - think marzipan and amaretto - her second choice was Contessa (Sicilian almond, crushed amaretti and caramelised almonds). The verdict - both were amazing and all she'd hoped for. (And yes - it is partly eaten in the pic - she just couldn't wait!)
They actually do more than just gelato here too. They have cakes, coffee, drinks, hot chocolate and even breakfasts as well.
RivaReno Gelato - more than you think and more than you expect too. This is top Italian gelato here in Australia. RivaReno is proof that in Sydney you don't need a passport to eat quality Italian gelato.
