Fratelli Famous Pizza
Level 1 World Square
644 George St
Sydney CBD
Fratelli and pizza - a combination that sounds good already. Throw in a busy location like World Square and the Bavarian Beer Cafe next door and it's an even better mix.
Firstly, you need to realise that this is a pizza place. Sure they do have a few desserts, but it's pizza here and that's it. Don't let that put you off though because its decent pizza and arrives super fast. You order at the counter by selecting a base, topping etc or cut to the chase and order one from the list. We did this for both our choices. You can add extra's though so don't forget this option.
Pizza number one was a classic - margherita. For us it's almost a benchmark pizza. With just a few ingredients there's nowhere to hide here. We were pleasantly surprised. We thought it would be de cent but it was better than this. The base was thin and nicely crisped at the edges. The topping was tasty and rich and dotted with fresh basil. The Italian flag colours - red, white and green - of this classic shone through nicely.
Pizza number two was a chorizo one. To be honest, we chose it because it was the closest thing to peperoni on the menu. Turned out to be another good choice too with spicy chorizo on another good base and plenty of bit with chilli flakes liberally sprinkled on top.
We grabbed a few drinks and enjoyed a quick tasty meal. The food here is fast, fresh and tasty. They don't muck around - it's being made as you order it. If you're after a quick and good pizza drop by. There are brews next door too and a few desserts. Lots of people drop in and just tend to stay!
