Shishabella

With a name like Shishabella it’s no surprise that they have shishas here. They actually are a dessert place too and serve a mean sweet finale to any night out. They’re actually the sister venue to Arabella Lebanese Restaurant which is right next door. They open on to each other too. It’s possible to dine in Arabella and go next door to Shishabella for dessert and a shisha. Alternatively, you can also have a light meal and dessert in Shishabella and just spend the evening there. Choices, choices, choices.
We were visiting just for dessert. We don’t mind shisha’s being around us so that wasn’t a concern. That said, the staff there were so attentive to us constantly asking if it bothered us and if we wanted an outside table. If they do bother you but you fancy dessert here just sit outside. It’s very pleasant there too. Mlady chose a slice of Ferrero Rocher cake. It was rich and chocolatey as expected and she loved it. The hazelnut and chocolate flavours were a great mix.
Sir went more traditional and had a ricotta cheesecake slice. It was thick and indulgently tasty with a nice drizzle of chocolate over it and under it. There’s something about a good ricotta cheesecake that manages to hit the spot. This one did just that.
Ok, so we were pretty full but keen to explore a bit more of their sweets menu. We both love Turkish delight so some of this seemed an easy decision.
Finally we grabbed a piece of basbousa, a semolina based cake.It was a heavy sweet cake and very tasty. It came served with mounds of crushed pistachio nuts.
Clearly if you’re in to shisha’s then this is a place to visit. However, if you just want a really good dessert don’t pass Shishabella by as they have some great sweet treats here.
