The Loft Cafe
Shop 427, Level 4, Macquarie Shopping Centre,
Corner of Herring and Waterloo Road,
Macquarie Park, Sydney
It's no surprise that The Loft Cafe is - well - in the loft area of Macquarie Centre. The name is of course a clear give away. It's a pleasant part of the centre with plenty of natural light and space. We were shopping - not an unusual pastime for us - and needed brunch when we spotted The Loft Cafe. There's an indoor area as well as a substantial "outdoor" area - which is still inside Macquarie Centre but outside the cafe itself. You get a bit more passing traffic in the "outdoor" area but it just seems a bit more open and relaxed.
Sir almost always heads for a more substantial meal and today was no exception. He chose The Loft Starter - a biggish meal of avocado chunks, tomato & goats cheese. There's also the option of adding an egg for an extra $3 - which he understandably opted for! It was a big, colourful and tasty meal and the egg was nicely done with a perfectly runny yolk.
Mlady invariably heads for the healthy options for brunch and once she spied the TLC Toasted Granola her heart was won. She loves a good granola. This was described as slow roasted muesli served with cinnamon, yoghurt, fruit, mixed nuts, seeds, coconut and drizzled with honey. It lived up to the hype too A massive serving arrived with splashes of vibrant colour. She was in "granola" heaven.
We of course had a couple of coffees too. They hit the spot.
The Loft Cafe has an extensive menu covering breakfast, brunch and lunch - as well as coffee and snacks in between. You order at the counter, get a number on a stand and wait a short time for your food and drinks to arrive. Grab a good table first as they go quickly on busy days and settle in for a good feed.
