Blackbird Café at Cockle Bay Wharf has amazing views of Darling Harbour. You can relax and enjoy a great meal with a drink or two whilst soaking up the ambiance. They also have some tasty food on offer too!
We started with a cocktail and had the Bluebird. For those with a sweet tooth - you are going to love this drink. It is made of an in-house blend of Midori, blue curacao, sprite, fresh lime with a few drops of grenadine served over ice with fresh fruits. Such a colourful drink!
The classic Prosciutto pizza was delicious. It had tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese all topped with rocket leaves and grana padana cheese then finished with balsamic glaze. It had plenty of topping with great tasting combinations. This was a really good pizza.
Sir loves all things duck so no surprises that he was delighted that we had the shredded duck salad. He loved it! It was made up with sliced cucumber, cherry tomato, coriander, bean sprouts, rocket, sesame oil, crispy wontons all finished with Asian style dressing. There was a lot going on with this very tasty salad which Sir thoroughly enjoyed - even more surprisingly as it was a salad!!!
We also had a divine roasted pumpkin risotto. Mlady loves pumpkin and she certainly had her fair share of this delicious dish. It had pumpkin puree, roasted pine nuts and brown onion all topped with goats cheese and dried cranberries.
Our pasta dish was beautifully al dente. It was Fettuccine Geraldo - prawns and chicken tenderloins tossed with sauteed garlic, tomato and shallots in a creamy avocado infused white wine sauce. This was so good. It had really great flavours that just went so good together. It also had heaps of prawns, chicken and avocado. We loved this!
This impressive skewered dish was Chicken Espatada. The skewered chicken is marinated in lemon and garlic with a red wine chilli sauce slowly dripping down it. It also had a bed of lovely crisp sweet potato chips under it all. It was another great tasting meal.
The food at Blackbird is good - really good. They have great combinations and the menu is certainly extensive with something for everyone!
Sir and Mlady dined as guests of Blackbird Café. Special thanks to the team at Twentieth Letter for arranging this visit.
