We love gelato. On our regular travels in Italy we often end our evenings with several scoops each - even if we've had dessert somewhere else! It's a treat we find hard to resist. Gelateria Gondola brought back memories of Italy for us. They have a good range of flavours with a few interesting twists as well. The bright colours drag plenty of people into the shop anyway, and once in, you know you're going to leave with something!
The biggest challenge here is what to order. They're more than happy to give you a spoon with a taste of any flavours you want so if you're eyeing off something you haven't tried before - ask for a sample.
Mlady's two choices were chocolate (surprise surprise) and Madagascan vanilla. She loved them both but especially the vanilla. A good full flavoured vanilla like this isn't that easy to find. Sir had amaretti and the one that caught his eye straight away - banana Nutella - which was his pick of the two with it's subtle banana combining well with the Nutella.
The bright colours of all their offerings drag plenty of people into the shop anyway, and once in you know you're going to leave with something!
Gelato Gondola has a great reputation. It's not in the busies part of Chatswood but it's obvious they draw plenty of people in who know where they are. After tasting their gelato we certainly understand why this happens. They have great stuff here.
