Massaya Authentic Lebanese Restaurant
608 Liverpool St
Strathfield, Sydney
Finding a beautiful restaurant with both an extensive middle eastern menu as well as a western menu sounds almost too good to be true! Although, that is exactly what Massaya in Strathfield offers its guests. We haven’t even mentioned the exceptional friendly staff and the outdoor shisha area.
We were welcomed with two cocktails that were specially chosen for us. We had a Blue Passion cocktail and a Coco Pina. Both perfect summer drinks.
We started our meal with a lovely basket of different breads. We kept nibbling tghese all evening - they were so hard to resist.
Our first entrée was a big plate of bruschetta. We knew there was something different about it when we had our first bite, it was base of delicious garlic bread!
Our second entrée was a cocktail of fresh cold tiger prawns. They came in a circle in a glass with a generous portion of seafood sauce in the bottom and a wedge of lemon there too. These fresh prawns were simply delicious.
Our final entrée was a big plate of falafel. The special sauce on the falafel was something to remember!
For mains we had Lamb Mansaf, something that is hard to find outside of a Tayta’s (Grandmother’s) house! It’s a traditional Lebanese spiced rice dish topped with a tender lamb shank. It was perfectly accompanied with cucumber yogurt.
For dessert we asked the team to pick one thing from the menu for us. In their true style of Middle Eastern hospitality they brought us almost everything on the menu! Although they did bring it on one plate!
It was a perfect night filled with amazing food and wonderful staff. Thank you to everyone at Massaya! The Two Contessa’s visited as guests of Massaya Authentic Lebanese Restaurant. Special thanks to Jason from Spooning Australia for arranging this visit.
