Westleigh Mezze bar is a cafe/restaurant nestled in the “village” of Westleigh. We know Westleigh isn’t strictly a village - it’s actually a suburb - but it does think of itself as a village and has a real village atmosphere. Taking advantage of a lovely Sunday morning, we went to Westleigh Mezze Bar for brunch.
Being the all important first coffees of the day, Sir had his usual skim flat white whilst Mlady had her usual, a large weak soy cappuccino. These coffees were good! Isn’t that first one so important for the rest of the day! It really sets the scene for what follows.
Then we moved on to the food which was our main reason for the visit. Mlady chose from the ‘Specials’ board and had a bacon egg roll. Her sauce of choice was barbecue. It really was a delicious roll, all cooked perfectly and it was a substantial serving with plenty of bacon too. Mlady thoroughly enjoyed this and would definitely have it again.
Perusing the breakfast menu Sir eyed off the Bruschetta breakfast. This was fresh tomato in basil pesto, topped with haloumi, pine nuts and two beautifully poached eggs all served on toasted sourdough. It was another substantial serving that was fresh and vibrant. Sir loves his poached eggs and combined with everything else that made up this delicious breakfast, it certainly ticked all the boxes for him.
Westleigh Mezze bar might be a bit hard to find for some as it’s perched on an outer corner of the shopping centre. It has a cosy inside space and a nice balcony out the front for that all important al fresco dining. This place makes a visit to Westleigh all the more worthwhile!
